being shy sucks. When I was in college, I could never find a job because they wanted an outgoing person. I did horrible in interviews no matter how much coaching I got. Even being friendly, they didn't like my softness. Nowadays, it's honestly more anxiety than it is shyness.

I can't tell if I'm shy, introverted, or just socially awkward...

the annoying thing about being shy is that people treat you differently thinking you're a mute or you're dumb

What if you are both shy and introverted? Like, I am fairly shy, but even given a group of people that I know and am comfortable with, I always prefer to be alone

I actually enjoy being shy. Sure I don't have a whole lot of friends, but hey, who wants to get into the drama right? I'm happy at where I am. And as said in this video, there are benefits for being shy and they are absolutely true. :>

Being shy is so fuckin annoying. I'm been annoyed that no businesses have called me about my job applications. But when they finally do call, I'm afraid to call back.

Honestly, for me, it's mainly that I don't know how to approach people without seeming like a waste of time or just awkward. I don't like bothering people, so I usually don't try to talk to them. And sometimes, when people approach me, they ask me questions like "What do you like?" but the thing is that they probably won't know what I'm talking about because the stuff that I like aren't popular at all where I live, so I never know what to answer. The funny thing is that I don't really seem approachable for people. For them, it almost seems as if I'm planning someone's murder 24/7. Very pale skin, looking tired, barely speaking, almost never smiles or laughs and stays alone. Haha, that's me in real life.
But once I open up to people, oh boy. I'm completely crazy, and tend to talk a LOT. Especially online. It's easier for me to speak to people online, even when I do not know them. The only real friends that I have are online friends, who are really great. I've lost some of them because they became less and less active on the game we hung out in, but I still keep in touch with some of them. But the problem with having online friends is, that since you already have friends, you tend to tell yourself "I already have enough friends, I don't need other friends in real life." or "People in real life are jerks, I'd rather stay with my online/real friends." so yeah, those are two sides of a coin. Real life me, the awkward, pretty much asocial person, and Online me, the one that won't ever shut up. This comment is also a good example of this, because, just look at the length! It's not even the longest comment I've ever written.

I'm shy and have a low self-esteem but I always feel confident when I'm around my friends. like, if they're not with me I usually would just lower my head, staring at my shoes and saying nothing. I always wait for others to start a conversation first because I felt like they're annoyed by me if I started first. but if my friends are around I would joke around and laugh loudly and make terrible humor without caring what others think

Being shy is nice, I have one group of kids who think don't fit in or feel unwanted. In lunch we all sit togethor and talk about what's happened sow far, at this table we aren't shy, unwanted, or sad. This table we all have a voice, no one is left out felt unwanted or sad. If someone is sad we might be little quiter than normal, but that hasn't happend. We call that table the Open to all People, if someone is sitting alone we invite them to sit with and make sure they know they have voice, and they are heard at this table or with us.
