Apple Notes is so versatile and fast if you're in the Apple ecosystem. While I do use Obsidian for longer-form writing and more complex writing tasks, Apple Notes has increasingly become my go-to notes app over the years. Quick Notes is awesome, the Apple Pencil support is fantastic, and it does a great job working with other apps. The ONLY thing I really need to make Apple Notes work for even more note taking is back linking (or just ability to easily generate a link to a note and place it elsewhere).

Hallo Tom, das Video war klasse. Ich nutze auch nur Apple Notes als Notizen-Tool und auch als second brain. Tatsächlich ist die Suchfunktion so gut, dass man das machen kann. Wenn Apple jetzt die Erstellung von Notizen per Siri über die Apple Watch ermöglichen würde (mit Erinnerungen geht das ja!) wäre das weltklasse. I'm a diehard Apple Notes fan but it's really been letting me down lately with syncing. Straight up just won't sync between iPhone and Mac for days at a time.

Really helpful video. I can’t help feeling that 99% of Apple device users are probably only using 1% of the capabilities. Like, simply using what’s intuitive, without actually exploring any deeper.

I’m already convinced about using Apple Notes as my personal Brain and knowledge store. I agree on all the knowledge capture pieces you describe but it does have shortcomings compared to Notion, so I have two questions: 1) can you create a shortcut or pipeline to feed a voice memo into Whisper and ChatGPT to create an accurate transcript and structured, formatted note with Summary, main points, links, etc. and 2) is there any way or need to automatically backup your data in case you lose access to it for some reason?

Apple notes is great but what if you have other non apple devices as well! That’s why I use google keep syncs across all devices seamlessly! You can share and also pin notes that you need to get to on a daily basis! That’s the note app that I have been using for years now since google released it!

It’s the best App on the Apple ecosystem to create simple notes. But it’s lacking the more advanced features that are needed to turn them into a knowledge base. For that I use Notion turning Apple Notes into more advanced documents.

Apple Notes is good, but why oh why did they remove the ability to cross link between notes. This is a MAJOR step backwards, and has driven me back to using EverNotes

Ich suche nach einer schnellen Möglichkeit (beim iPhone), vom Sperrbildschirm aus eine neue Notiz zu erstellen. Für Things3 gibt es so ein Widget, das ist sehr praktisch!
