FAA may give SpaceX Starship Green Light very soon | SpaceX de-stacked S25/B9! Why?

Hello friends,
Welcome back to another episode by Engineering Today and hope you’re all having a great time.

Recently, there have been several notable developments at the SpaceX launch facility. First and foremost, Starship 25 has been destacked from the SuperHeavy Booster B9. The fully prepared Ship and Booster combination has been deliberately separated.....

We live in the west coast north of Vandenberg AFB and get to see a lot of what gets launched. It’s always a treat to hear the rumble and get outside to see the phases of the rockets. Be safe everyone!

The FAA did not investigate, SpaceX did. All the FAA did was approve the corrective actions and the report submitted by SpaceX.

2 possible reasons spring to mind:
Since the FAA won't grant a license for several weeks Elon wants to make some tweaks and they're easier to do with the ship sitting on the ground.
In case bad weather comes along the overall vehicles would be more stable with the booster held by the clamps and the ship on the ground surrounded by the chopsticks.

They're de-stacking to put the recently-approved Flight Termination System together. Why is this a mystery?

Some of us needed that.

Even if the FAA approves the launch license they still need the environmental part completed. We all know exactly how fast that went the last time.

It seems pretty obvious, I would not leave the stack up sitting on the pad for a month until launch. While it seems silly, there would be a actual concern that the two pieces could get stuck together if left sitting for too long as well as not wanting to leave the hardware out in the weather for too long. While it sounds dumb, these are real basic concerns.

I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't launch until November.

5ᵗʰ November (Guy Fawkes) might be a good launch date. :)

I would launch a booster alone to orbit, to test it alone, without endangering a starship.
