this is a slice of life type of anime. The animation is well done with the hand movements playing the instrument and music.

The sound of the shamisen is so special, it feels raw and yet full of emotions. This anime reminds me a lot of _Kono Oto Tomare!_ which is about the koto. The main character also loses his grandfather and rediscovers his passion for music throught a club in high school. If you started _Mashiro no Oto_ and liked it so far, I recommend you to take a look at it.

Absolutely stunning. I love it when you try something out not knowing anything about it to then be absolutely awestruck by it. This performance was incredible, I actually applauded when it ended... after a few seconds of processing what I had just witnessed of-course.
