Can we give a special recognition for Mr. Brown’s wife for such a wonderful, and expensive gift . This is something he clearly cherishes now, and will for the rest of his life.

What a bonus to discover SBREBrown’s pen “origin” story! Thank you.

The one, the only, the Professor himself! Mr SBRE Brown. Brilliant channel, great sense of humour and a channel I’ve been watching for a long time. 😀👍🏻

What a special story about how you received your grandfathers pens. Although my grandparents are long gone, I am at that age where I can gift my fountain pens to my grandchildren.

That was a very touching story about Stephen's grandfather's pen. His gift to Dr. Brown has lead to a passion that has benefited many enthusiasts in this rather cozy community of ours. A lot of enthusiast communities have a combative vibe. Take a look at audio gear enthusiasts or photography gear enthusiasts. Fountain pen people are like fountain pens: warm, welcoming, a little contemplative, a little nerdy, and just pure fun.

Joost, thank you for doing this series! And Stephen, you and Azizah each put a lump in my throat this afternoon. They are beautiful pens, but as you say - even more beautiful stories.

My Visconti Opera is my favorite pen, and also my first gold nib. It is the almont honey finish that came out right before the elements finishes. Always wanted the fire as well, as it looks great. I keep mine full of Heart of Darkness at all times, so it is my signature, check writing, important notes pen.

What a great story. I feel like my mom had a fountain pen but it was left atop her dresser and I only remember it being dried out and forlorn. That was when I was a child knowing nothing of pens. But… I completely feel your love of your grandfather in this also through the watches. I bought a lovely omega pocket watch and knew immediately that it must be an heirloom for my son. Thank you Stephen.

I watched Azizah's video a few minutes ago, then came looking for this one featuring Dr. Brown. These videos are so interesting and heartwarming! Thank you.

Stephen, the stories as to why you liked these pens is totally fascinating and moving.

Stephen’s grandfather’s pens reminds me of my mother’s Sheaffer Snorkel. I remember watching her fill it when I was a child in the 1950s. It is three times a gift: my father gave it to her, eventually she gave it to me, and then my niece gave me some money to have it restored. I suppose one day it will be four times a gift.

The best things about pens ... and people ... are the stories. Thank you, Stephen, for sharing yours. And thank you, Appelboom, for this series.
