I was looking for something "Sooner" an avocado would be ripe by then :(

Not sure if you are able to help me on this. I bought some avocadoes last Thursday but up till now, it has not turn soft but have already gone really dark in color.  One of it is very soft at the tip but the rest of the body is rock solid.  So is it considered ripe?

Sumatra, avocados come ripe hard so they're not spoiled before you buy them in the store or quickly spoil before you use them at home. You know better.
