ZONE HIGH vs 2-3 Zone

I feel if 5 can do a high screen for 2 when cutting through AND if 2 shows hands while cutting (maybe a little noise too) to indicate "sincere" attempt for off screen layup conversion (from 5 screen), this should help create confusion for defense, draw mid zone out to help and send them into momentum towards the ostensible "strong side", open up the left for more driving options and better screening options for 4 (but 2 HAS to bolt to not clog up the middle and timing has to be just right). This would give more driving / shooting / give and go opportunities between 3 and 4. Basketball. A game of decisions, acting, and perfect timing.

And all this from just one free throw line extended back screen from 5 to 2 at the beginning of the play. 2 would have to be so fast to not clog the middle for that kind of timing. Alternate: After 2 shows hands and "calls" for the ball, rotates out to right corner while 5 v cuts to right elbow with instant sharp cut while showing hands and noise with intent to fill right wing.

Keep in mind...the true intent of 2 and 5 is a smoke and mirror strategy and never considered intended primary options.

Timing of 4 screen needs to be spot on. 1 needs to be able to act towards "options" on right, speed cross on the high post screen of 4, and preferably do this without ever really looking at left court until literal last second. So 1 needs great court vision and IQ.

But: If 2 can BOLT, fill in opposite left corner. If not, fill in right corner to not pull the zone back to left.

If the middle defender of the zone takes 4, 3 goes and scores

Run for to weak side box and 5 to strong side, the center is going to help until the screened player get there - the weak side defender low will shade so u need for to get under him and seal for a layup or at least occupy him so he can’t switch to 5 when 3 goes to rim and defending center has to challenge - leaving 5 open - but he must seal underneath as ball side post will try to slide down off of 2.

Make a lot more sense for 3 to spread to the corner whilst 1 swings to 2, then you can run the same 4 screen on the reversal and 1 makes the read

4 sets the screen so they wouldn’t be on the block as shown in this video, they’d be near the top of the key where the screen was set

… but from the start, if ur 4 & 5 are already inside the defenders, that’s a bullet or lob pass to the inside for a layup

So the defender who got screened just falls to the ground and stops playing?

Then what does 5 do just stand around ? Also the weakside defender isnt he going to help too?
