Wish we did this at an affordable price in London. This is still considered quite a boojee way of shopping.

Amazing idea but this needs work. First of all printing stickers isn't zero waste. You could just have a self check machine like any other grocery store where you choose the item, weight it and then it's just added to your total. The remembering numbers seems like a hassle too. In order for this to work it needs to be as accessible and easy as possible. We need the general public using this, not just a few conscious individuals. And then there's contamination issues with people bringing in their half used food. Food poisoning is no joke.

This is the future! However we still need to consider more about the sanitary issues.
You can take your reused containers to the store, but when you refilled, apparently the taps and scoops touched your own container, and even almost put the jar inside the box containing food.
It’s impossible to make sure everyone’s containers are clean, so some way to prevent things get polluted should be figured out

I’m only worried about germs because she brought her half full and unwashed Tamari container. I do like this store though.

who told you that you don’t have to wash the peanut butter jar ever again???

I wonder about possible alternatives to printing stickers and remembering numbers. Maybe stores could have an app or a digital system where you enter as you go or the "sticker" goes to an account, then the cashier pulls it up when you check out. Something like that.

ahhhh FIFO! First in first out! You should rotate and use the old stuff first...if you always bring in half full jars then all the stuff at the bottom is going to go bad!

It is weird to have half full jars. I know with bulk barn, you have to have clean containers not contaminate other products.

The whole concept is great, but why bring a bottle that is half way full?

Love it but you not rotating your food. That quinoa at the bottom will be very stale after doing this a few times and the peanut butter rancid.

The germaphobe in me is grossed out but I love the concept and idea of it

This is amazing, but unfortunately the foods could be contaminated very easily if different people touch it, just like the tofu. I wish they could use paper or plant based packaging instead of it being all out in the air

You definitely want to clean your peanut butter jar bacteria can build up an old peanut butter left on the residue from the previous use

Great idea, but definitely still needs work before the majority of people will make the switch. Had a few ideas! For the contamination issue, half full containers should not be allowed, and they could have a UV sanitizer at the front where an employee sanitizes all your containers before you can shop. Also could have that employee weigh each of your containers and instead of printing stickers, write the weights with a chalk/dry erase marker on each container. Wish there was something. Like this near me though! Bulk is usually cheaper too because you’re not paying for all the extra packaging

I'm just gonna say it: I like to see the prices/grand total of the grocery stores and a view of what was bought so I can get a rough idea about it 😅🤘🏽

Organic and non gmos? I wish these people worried about real issues based on science and not this nonsense. It's a shame vegan youtubers continue to spread misinformation about these topics. Organic is not better than conventional and gmos are safe. When will we stop being afraid of things we don't understand?

It's impossible to keep this sanitary... Impossible...

I love the concept but it's a bit ironic that they don't 'carry GMOs' yet the hygienic hazards are pretty evident. Kind of like seeing the small problem and ignoring the massive one...

A better system would be to do what milk delivery companies used to do in the past they gathered the milk container and took it back to the factory to be cleaned and refilled and delivered again but instead this company could package their food in reusable mason jars ( with identification stickers) and give discounts for returning the jars to the store and have their own mason jar cleaning system P.S. this is also done with bottled water in used water coolers they return the empty water cooler bottles in exchange for fresh full water cooler bottles
Like if you agree
