To all of you that have being telling me that the yell of The Legend of Tarzan is the more animalistic and more realistic, I have to remind all that you CAN'T be accurate with the yell of Tarzan just based on of the book (or even the 1912 movie) especially when we don't even have evidence or any reports of a yell like Tarzan ever that happen anywhere around the world and one more thing this is a FICTIONAL STORY that everybody have their own imagination that how Tarzan Yell sound.

Here a video of the Creators of Tarzan Silver Screen King of the Jungle that will educate you about it :
The Tarzan Yell

I adore the Disney version of Tarzan, and the yell (which was performed by Brian Blessed) was amazing and it makes you shiver, but the yell from The Legend of Tarzan is great. In the novel, Edgar Rice Bourroughs described it as a terrifying roar characteristic of the bull ape that resonated everywhere and no one could believe it came from a human throat.. and this roar right here is pretty much like that

Listen, guys, in most cases, we'll just prefer what we hear first.
Sometimes, people are pragmatic about it.

they made it scarier and more realistic, its cooler that way.

Actually, the 2016 is a bit more accurate to the books, it’s not supposed to be an undulating man yell with a heavy vibrato, it’s supposed to be the victory cry of a bull ape, and the first yell simply fits better as a man’s attempt to copy it than the second.

You should have used the yell when he beat Sabor, that is by far the best Tarzan Yell.

No movie or cartoon ever made, even slightly comes close, to the real "Victory Cry of the Great Bull Ape who has made a kill."
Imagine a 7 foot tall primordial anthropoid with great fangs that has just ripped his foe apart.
Now imagine the adrenaline flowing through that great beast's veins and how hyped up it is.
Now imagine it putting its foot on the fallen body of its foe and raising its head to the sky and screaming forth its victory cry at many, many decibels!
It is a scream, that if we heard it in real life in the jungle, would chill us to the bone and paralyze us in fear and we would know with certainty, "no man uttered that sound."
This is the cry the Tarzan of the books; the "Real Tarzan" made, when he killed.
No one has ever tried to reproduce that sound in any Tarzan movie, or cartoon.

In the books, there were two yells:
The challenge of the bull ape, and
The victory cry of the bull ape.

In many adaptations, Tarzan isn't using his yell for either purpose. He's either calling elephants to save him or using it like a siren: here I come!

When I first heard this in the movie I honestly had the same judge?ent and was like 'what??? That's not what Tarzan is supposed to sound like.' And then I actually read an article that briefly explained the true origins of the story of Tarzan and I literally was like 'actually the one from the legend of Tarzan would be accurate.' As much as I love the Disney version of the Tarzan yell. If I went into the jungle and heard THIS version, I'd crap my pants

What most think of as the "iconic" Tarzan roar, originated by Johnny Weismuller, is actually copyrighted by a different entity than the character of Tarzan himself. Unless they want to pay extra for it, they can use "a" roar for him, but not "the" roar. Even Disney was limited in how often they could use it, and got their own actor to do it so they didn't have to pay to use a recording of Johnny

The Live action yell sounds much closer to Tarzan's very fist yell when he is holding up Sabor just after he killed him.

The new one is how its supposed to be. From what I've read its the closest sound to how the original creator wanted

The whole jungle was trembling Alexander Tarzan 2016 well done, human vocals do have some limitations but it's more realistic than the cartoon.

If you go by the Disney movie, Kala tells Tarzan when he is young to make his own sound. Overtime, that's where the yodelying yell probably came from. In the end when Kerchak is killed and he's left to lead the family, Tarzan makes a bit of a roar much more like an ape. In the newer Tarzan film the yell is like a mixture of the two to make it more realistic in my opinion. Personally I like the Disney version better because the yell give a me chills due to the vocals, but to each their own.

ok dude...chill the latter yell was "I'm showing off..." the former "you took Jane? now I'M. PISSED. OFF." WARNER BROS WAS SHOWING THAT DIFFERENCE. ALSO, SERIOUSLY????😑

Wrong... In the novel, Tarzan's yell was an animalistic roar. It was Johnny Wesimuller that created the yodel yell that has become iconic. But that's not the original roar. The Christopher Lambert's Tarzan roar is closer to what it is supposed to be.
I like this one because it combines the yodel with the animal roar

Tarzan is an animal.Johnny Weissmeuler was a yodeller. It would make more sense for him to ACTUALLY roar. Considering at the time he started doing it, he was amongst leopards and lions and most importantly gorillas and such, and not the Swiss alps
