The symbolism in this scene is very strong. For those who didn't get the real meaning of this scene: It means that if you get drunk ass in the zoo and try to impress your nephew by getting into the gorilla cage to wrestle him, your nephew will have a true anathomy class by seeing a lot of human organs getting torn apart

I think a lot of people in the comments really don’t know the source material. In the books and comics, Tarzan snaps Buffalo necks and has killed a bunch of Mangani with his bare hands. This dude is superhuman, man. I think that people who are familiar with the source material would be expecting stuff like this. I’m pretty sure that most versions of Tarzan are superhuman. He’s an illogical character, yes, but that’s intentional. He is not supposed to be logical, he’s essentially a comic book character.

I feel bad for Akut. He saw his adoptive little brother be treated like shit by the leader all the time and he got strong, smart, and brave and took on the leader and became the new Alpha. Then he lost his mom and his brother deserted them.

They were not trying to kill each other. Akut knew Tarzan couldn't defeat him in close combat, but he also knows that Tarzan uses his intelligence and weapons when he's trying to kill.
BTW Tarzan is not a normal man. He's physically superior to any man. Strength, speed, durability wise.
They both respect each other.

The scene Tarzan was going head to head with a silverback was insane. A gorilla is at least 20 the strength of the strongest human.

This is a VERY underrated film, I enjoyed it from start to finish.
