India has a beautiful and rich history. A very old culture indeed.

Theres a small story from my mothers side:- during the British rule, my mother's great great grandfather was the "zamindar" of that region, like a small king. There was an old temple in that region which is currently destroyed, that temple was said To house tons of golds and other treasures, so during the British invasion the British troops looted the temple for around 100 times but still couldn't able to move all of the treasure from the temples vault, and as a result they destroyed the temple so that no one can get the rest. As times passed everyone forgot where the temple actually was, and till date no one knows where it is. It has billions of worth of treasury. This is just a small example of how much rich the ancient India was. It wasn't called the "Golden Bird" for no reason

Fun fact why British didn't looted it because at that time we (keralaties at that time travancore ) we are simple white dress with pearl ornaments they think we are poor that's why they didn't know about it and one more thing this temple is old it's even recognised in Ramayana and Mahabharata

I recently learned that the person who tried to open it actually died a few days later after a failed attempt and the person who recorded it also died. Theres apparently no holes for keys or any locks on the door but so much threads and spiritual figures are tied to it. It is believed that you can open it by saying something called a special 'mantra' which means a sacred song and theres no other way to open the last chamber. After the deaths the indian government chose to shut down this project and banned the place from any further investigating or attempts to open it. Its aslo believed that the last avatar of Lord Vishnu (a hindu Deity who is the called the Protector of life) the Kalki avatar is sleeping in the last chamber and if opened will be angered and will destroy the world. The Kalki avatar is said to come out and destroy the world when the injustice has completely overtaken the world. Then starts the new era in which every god will live on earth.

This temple is under the supervision of Travancore royal family. They live the simplest life. They themselves live as servants of Sri Padmanabha Swami. Hence they describe themselves as Padmanabha Dasa. All their royal wealth was given as a gift to the temple. Among the finds were coins from the time of King Solomon and valuable objects from Roman, Greek, Egyptian and Assyrian eras

As Parveen Mohan said, "I am not interested in Gold or money it contains, i am interested in why so much gold is kept in garbhgriha of temples, what properties of gold we don't know and ancient people knew, i m interested in the knowledge lost"

Also all 7 members died mysteriously due to heart attacks several months and years after the excavation. Also one of them died on the spot by a snake bite while trying to open the 6th vault or vault B.

Not only that but it is believed that this vault can only be opened by a sacred mantra or strotam but no one knows the mantra.

Why can’t people just leave these temples and monuments alone. They’re preserved for a reason and not to be destroyed and excavated for its riches. Can’t we just enjoy the beauty of it and it’s history.

God only knows, how many valuables have been vanished since the chambers are opened.

We don't want any more invaders.
So people keep quiet about the treasures .

Why is the govt doing this? It's a shrine and these treasures were given in devotion. Leave them alone.

It is the most richest temple in the world and it is in Thiruvananthapuram (trivandrum), Kerala. It is the richest because, during the British rule, the deity was covered in mud or dirt, for ages, until recently, after the British left, the deity was cleaned and gold was revealed. It was made secret for more than 200 years no one knew it was gold, same with the vault, no one knew there was wealth inside, it was also made a secret, according to the prince told in an interview even the royal family didn't knew there was wealth in that vault, everyone thought it is just a vault.
About the vault B, it is told that it is TOLD that, if it is opened, whole of Thiruvananthapuram will be under water.

TBH, the vault wasn't opened because it was discovered that it was a trap for enemies and it's connected to the pond nearby which on opening will destroy the temple foundation destroying everything and killing everyone on spot, rest 4 chambers were opened and the treasure was evaluated.

India is a fascinating area of ancient human civilizations. It’s always had my eye, but lately it’s been drawing my attention like there’s no tomorrow. Something about ancient civilizations living in the jungles, mysterious disappeared and the jungle swallowing the ancient cities whole, just puts my imagination through a frenzy and I love it.
