Layer 3 of the OSI model is the Network layer. It's what makes the packets get around between different networks.

I really appreciate this series. I've been wanting to make a similar setup at home just to teach myself these concepts to get a more concrete understanding of the different OSI layers - something like two PCs, a switch, a router, a RasPi server, maybe a virtual machine or two, then fool around with opening and closing ports and setting up rules and tracing the path of packets around the setup until I really "get it". Your videos are really helpful to get a grip on what's happening in each layer. Cheers

You simplified this concept like I've never seen before. Well done and thank you!

Thanks for the videos.
So, regarding level 2 and 3, I see there are level 2 and level 3 switches (or even UniFi which will get a layer3 update). What's the difference? Is a layer3 switch a router?

Nice video series but I would expect a little bit more. It would be cool to see via Packet Capture how it really happens with explanation, just like You did with Roaming on Wireless on Your other video.

PLEASE can you explain in some of next videos - plain simple - so I can understand 😎 how PORT TRIGGER is used / working and HOW to combine it w/ port forward?
