This short film features a selection of owls native to India filmed in the wild over the course of three trips. Species include Spotted Owlet (of both races), Forest and Jungle Owlets, Oriental, Indian, Eurasian and Pallid Scops Owls, Brown Fish Owl, Mottled Wood Owl and Brown Hawk Owl.

Can anyone tell me that is Brown fish owl are found in Malabar area or not .... Yesterday night I saw a large bird at midnight scooping down near my home ... It face was owl like ... Didn't see any whiskers over eyes ..and eyes were yellow .. it was a bit dark so I can't clearly appreciate any more ..

Last year I found an cute owlet. I couldn't stop myself from bringing it with me. At first it was very defensive and scared. But within 2 to 3 days he became friendly. I used to feed him snails and fish. I researched on internet about what to feed a pet owl. I came to know that owls need to be feed whole day and that they like their food to clutch and tear up (predators...)...some owl owner youtuber have uploaded videos that pet owls feeding on chicks. So I thought of feeding him meat. First I gave it a piece of meat which he readily ate.. then I gave him intestine (and yes it was clean).... It was my biggest mistake.... He ate the whole chicken intestine like noodles in one go... I thought he would eat slowly by tearing it up....Then he flew to his usual corner. Hours passed and he refused to eat anything...I guess he over ate and could not digest properly. Next day he was not showing interest in anything and before I could do anything he passed away. I couldn't forgive myself for his death.

I miss him so much. All I could think of cute little owls with regret. This May I got an owlet as gift. This time I am going to be extra careful....

PS- sorry for the long comment. I just wanted to tell my pet story..
