In this YouTube Shorts video we look at the bits of footage I have been collecting of the first year with my owl. In this shorts I show how a montage of how a one week old owl grows and develops into a fully grown bird of prey. Its like a shorts episode of real life owl babies! Training birds of prey takes a lot of time and effort, but owls are different. Although not to be taken as a tutorial this video shows how to train an owl as well as how to raise an owl. Training an owl with falconry techniques can start at a much earlier stage than parent reared birds as we raise the owls by hand, this is called imprinting. If you are thinking about getting an owl or have recently got a bird, this video is not what you should use as your source of information on how to train your owl. This is just a video showing a year with my owl, from picking us a chick all the way to flying an eagle owl.

Some say this story is depressing, some say it's wholesome, but for me, it's an incredibly inspiring story about cherishing your time with your loved ones, as all our days are numbered. While it's true that frieren is filled with regret throughout her current journey, she's considerably more open towards her current companions and more lax, as she's learned a valuable lesson in cherishing what little time she has with her short-lived companions. Truly one of the best mangas I've ever read
