This song is indeed a masterpiece, kind of best of a century canditate, epic, for eternity, unsurpassable... the days were sweeter, the nights of wonder, with friends surrounded, the dawn mist glowing, the water flowing, the endless river, forever and ever. Holy shit. Like looking back on a life. How absolute an genius must one be to create this track. Unbelievable.

Pink Floyd is the only band, where their later material is as good as the Golden Era. This great and evocative composition is proof of this.

Whenever I hear this song, I cry and cry and cry. Catharsis. Song of innocence and experience.

It's hard to believe that, this song is already 25 years old! I was in the 10th Grade, when it came out!

Kids nowadays say this type of music is horrible, whereas for me its very nostalgic and marks THE best years of my life. I can't really relate to most of you, as I'm only 21, but man does this song really hit home. I grew up on Rush, Seether, Pink Floyd, and a bunch of other ones I can't name off the top of my head cuz these were my top 3 favorites. High Hopes was my favorite song from when I was 4 years old and still is to this day. At 4 years old I was hit by a baseball which caused me to live with a TBI the rest of my life, and it was very hard finding ways to cope with my anger, and stress. I started getting to the age where I would listen to music, and ask to play it again cuz it sounded good, then my father showed me this song and I just couldn't stop listening to it, it was catchy. My father and I would bump this song in the car everywhere we'd go, and it eventually just stuck to me. Made me feel at home, and would relieve me of any negative energy in the moment. No modern bands will ever compare to bands from 60 years ago. Music surely has changed over the years and I don't mean in a good way, every band or organization these days all sound the same. So lets take a minute to remember this genre of music while it still exists because pretty soon the only genre thats gonna be around is hip hop.
