Streamlabs OBS is a fork of OBS, with some rather interesting added features. It's main perk is it's widgets - chat box, alert notifications, donation goals and more - but is it worth you using? Let's take a look!

Don't let this distract you from the fact that he's using OBS white theme

First 3 seconds: This is what OBS looks like.
Rest of the video: Advert for Streamlabs.

You are such an under-rated channel, every video is detailed and well thought out, i hope you see the growth you deserve

Thank you! I actually will start streaming pretty soon! As soon as I get a mic :)

Im not a streamer but doing s few streams and was looking for the difference between the two. SLOB seems more plug and play which is what I need. OBS seems like a good thing to test out for programming purposes since I code. Thanks for the comparison!

There is one thing every one seems to be forgetting is that SLOBS doesn't allow you to record different audio streams, while OBS does. And it's a big no-no for me - essentially this single feature is a deal breaker.

This video was very helpful, thank you very much for being so informative!

I switched to SLOBS a while back. Personal experience SLOBS uses less system resources than OBS even though OBS is already low. For a older system like mine any system resources saved is a massive bonus :)

p.s. nice comparison, well done

I'm going to use OBS for recording videos and Streamlabs for streaming

The best part about Streamlabs OBS is you can use your phone as a stream deck

If you use ASIO output, I recommend OBS. Yes, many things are manually done there, but they work.

I watched for 3 mins and didn’t hear a thing he said. I was to focused on him moving his hands non stop.

Thank you SO much for going into detail with the differences. I’ve started doing weekly lives and wasn’t sure which OBS to use, I’ll definitely try Streamlabs OBS this week! 🙌

Btw this is just a summary of the both. OBS is mostly aimed at people just recording things like there screen browser or games and Streamlabs OBS is aimed at people livestreaming for their twitch of youtube.

I am currently switching. But it will take a while, because i prefer to redo the set up for my stream from scratch. Something on OBS Studio is unstable for me right now (dunno if it’s the software or my setup over there). But that’s not the only reason I switch. I just love the extra features I get with it.
