There are many people in our lives who are old souls, you may even be one of them. They are wise beyond what their physical appearance or actual age let on and their innate knowledge has given them a very developed understanding of the world.
They are often quieter, preferring to observe and learn from a distance, while internalizing the lessons and all of the experiences they go through in life.

I really do feel like an old soul. I love history, especially the 1880’s-1960’s. Since I was about 8 or 9 years old I fell in love with 50’s doo wop style music and style, however that isn’t something I grew up with. I watch old Giants games from the 60’s and radio World Series games, and I focus on the care of other people more than myself. I try to find peace in the nature that surrounds me, and I have been told by many that I am wise beyond my years, and smarter than others my age. I care about my faith, I care about others rights, and I have patience to wait for the good that will come. I don’t know where I belong, or exactly who I am. But I do get the sense that I am old
Soul, and that I am meant for something other than just this physical life.

I feel like I don’t belong in this era. I feel like I’m just here sometimes, like this is everyone else’s world and I’m just in it.
I’m constantly thinking and overthinking to the point that I’m depressed and so stressed out.
I want to have some kind of purpose .

Wow, this gives me peace and helps me embrace myself in so many ways. I couldn’t truly stand being around my age group starting 16. Conversations and such were boring to me. I always felt old inside and struggled to fit in almost all my life. My closes friends were elders and I wasn’t even 20 yet. Everyone thought I was wise and such and I never truly understood until friends said I was an “old soul.” I started to research more on it. This video describes how I am so well. I thought there was something wrong with me but there is absolutely nothing wrong with me. Growing up i was always told i was an old soul by adults but was always misunderstood by my peers. I always see and feel the world differently than others i enjoy deep meaningful conversations and connecting with others on a deeper level beyond the surface. Which makes it hard for me to be in a relationship at 27yrs old to the point i learned to walk my own path because i question everything and very observant.. There was a time in my life where i went through a 10yr depression that i never wanna go back to cause i always thought i didn't belong but after being in counseling and practicing self care and love that i find meaning in i finally understand i have a purpose in this thing we call life.

it always perplexes me when I learn some deep introspective either philosophy or theory and share it with my friends only for them to make some kind of joke about it. I feel like I'm speaking another language. The only way they'll engage with the idea in a way that I want is I have to make up some kind of thought experiment. Although the scenarios we come up with can be entertaining, it feels like I'm "babying" them for lack of a better term.
