Thank you for this. I saw your Ted Talk too. In 94 I quit valium prescribed by my doc for nightmares (it did not help). In 95 I quit Xanax, prescribed for my dentist for TMJ. After 5 years, that one was tough. In 1999 I quit abusing alcohol. I quit smoking in 2005, the hardest one yet. But now it's food, and food is really different. I will try this though. I'll try anything. My body is really unhealthy because of my food addiction. Thanks again. ♥.

1) Look at your habit. Ask: What do I get from this?

2) RAIN. Recognize. Accept. Investigate. Note.

see the problem is that the example he used is for something most people find gross. “cigarette smoking”.

She was grossed out as she was feeding her addiction, but what if the feeling of regret or wrongness doesn’t happen until after you’ve partaken in the addiction.
Like people who are addicted to sweets and drink a lot of soft drinks. The food tastes awesome the whole time you’re eating it. It’s only later when you deal with diabetes that you have bad feelings about it.

I have the craving mind on audible but after watching your videos wish you had narrated the audio book. Far more relatable voice.

But does this truly apply to all habits? What about those, where what the person gets is pleasure of some kind (taste, smell, feeling)? Nothing more. And the craving is very simply that - the desire to experience that taste, smell, feeling, etc.?

Are we supposed to relax the tightness in our bodies ?

He never mentions alcohol. Here nor in his Ted Talk. Weird since it's arguably the most deadly and addictive craving out there.

2 steps is enough. First, decide you don't like what you are doing. Then if you decide you don't like it for what ever reason. Stop.
