They’re great, locking flex heads aren’t perfect but they are the best of two worlds (fixed head and flex head). Can’t beat snap on ratchets 👍

Thanks for the review!! My go to ratchets are Matco locking flex. If I need to put a lot of weight on something, I use my fixed Snap on ratchets. Vast majority of ratchets in the box are Chrome handle. I do have a couple hard handle Snap on in 1/4 and 3/8 on the way.

I have the FHLX80B with the new locking mechanism. Overall it’s a great ratchet, but the locking mechanism leaves a lot to be desired. It just doesn’t stay locked when you’re working and have to make sure it’s locked exactly like you said.

I'm lucky to have an awesome dealer who will warranty anything even if you may have absolutely abused it.

I have this ratchet and it's awesome but, it did fail on me while doing front springs on an f150. The rep rebuild the head but now it doesn't seem as smooth

Awesome video Ray! Thanks !
Quick question, what do you think about the Mac ratchets?

Snap on should have continued making the old push button locking flex head and offered both for sale. The new one is beefed up with a thicker diameter handle and seems heavy for a 3/8".

My opinion is on the snap on flex head is if your paying a premium price for a ratchet it better work for how much they charge for it!!
I think snap on is way over rated!! There other companies out there that compete with them in price, quality and functionality. Here are some brands that are just as good as snap on for a better price. Koken is a Japanese brand makes one of the smoothest ratchet on the market hands down, Stahlwille is a very good German brand, they have been around for a 160 years. I own a snap on flex head and I never use it because it’s too bulky and it does not fit into tight areas very well. Also when it comes to snap on tool innovations, they’re lacking behind everybody else when it comes to specialty tools.

Snapon dealers suck. At least every one I’ve dealt with.
