it is *insane* that some bugs can just stay in 'wait time' for 30 years and then just live life as if nothing happened??? Crazy nature! We have such amazing creatures living on this planet

3:33 The Alaskan beetle has six purple leg warmers so of course it survives the winter!

Raid has kind of turned into a huge scam with the new owners ... you might wanna reconsider their sponsorship if you look into how scummy they are now.

Silkworm eggs actually have to go through the cold of winter before they will hatch. We raised them every year when I was growing up, and we had the moths lay their eggs on construction paper so we could roll it up inside a paper towel tube and put it in the back of the fridge until the mulberry trees started to bud the following Spring. A few days after removing them from the fridge, the eggs would hatch.

I’m so sorry you have to get sponsored by Raid in order to keep up your awesome content, if I was a billionaire I’d cover the channel just because my daughter and I love it! But I digress, great info and thrilling video clips of all of my creepy crawler friends ❤

In all honesty this is part of the reason I prefer winter over summer and spring there aren’t nearly as many insects buzzing around constantly add onto the fact that it isn’t blazing hot outside, the grass doesn’t grow so it doesn’t need to be cut and I just prefer the winter aesthetic with fallen leaves, cloudy skies, and the cold breeze as opposed to summer and spring.

I did siding installation in the winter and sometimes I would pull off a section and there would be a couple wasps behind there half frozen but not dead. At this point it's already been months into an Albertan winter so they should definitely have been dead by my reckoning.

Any creature that has the ability to stay completely motionless throughout the winter is, by far, the most insane yet effective method I can ever learn about. The idea to simply sleep on it sounds pretty neat but as a Floridian who enjoys the colder days of the year, I’d prefer to stay awake and savor those moments since the heat can intensify every minute. Thanks again, Danielle.

4:09 there’s a woman from Minnesota who in the 70s or 80s was found frozen on a friend’s porch. They slowly thawed her out and she survived with a full recovery.

When raid has infected one of the best shows on YouTube 😂. Well, I’ll just watch it, then continue not to play it, and keep enjoying your content ❤

I always thought mosquitoes just died, and their eggs survive until warmer seasons.
