The ANC does not want South Africa to run smoothly as this would exposes all the nonsense that is going on within government

I'm happy to endure loadshedding until May next year if it means that the ANC gets VOTED OUT!!!

Unfortunately this will have no impact. It will have the opposite effect as we now have 3 ministers with their own mandates. Ministers cannot save eskom, only proper engineers and capital expendature can.

This is a manufactured crisis with an end game. If you are not onboard or in the know, you will not be informed. It follows that whomever they appoint will be part of the problem.

LOL Ted
You should know better than anyone: a leopard never changes its spots. The ANC hasn't had a clue how to run Eskom or the other SOE's for nearly 3 decades. Why would they suddenly now?

Ted makes a good point. Everything is now covered in bureaucracy. You need 40 forms, proof of residence and a copy of your ID to do anything in this country.
Now at eskom you need 3 feasibility studies and a hall pass to order a new part for a machine and some manager has to hold a meeting and a debrief before the order gets put in...

As long as Eskom is seen as sheltered employment for ANC cadres there can only be more load shedding in the future

Now can we have a state of disaster for the state that is a disaster.

The electricity crisis - what a beautiful thing! Let it all fall down! Fabulous!

Strategy to deal with this problem is needed, .. not another minister

The only way to save Eskom is to rebuild it from the ground up, and after all the cadres get their cut, there isn't any more money left to do that. South Africa is a shining example of how to turn a functional country into a dumpster fire.

The Energy Minister won't do anything. They just need someone in the cabinet to throw under the bus, if the President Himself cannot or doesn't seem like he wants to address Eskom Directly then the Energy Minister cannot do a damn thing either.

Now those who created the disaster are calling for a state of disaster...
Just get rid of the ANC first.

Yes but the POINT IS it should not take a state of disaster to FIX THIS. WTF?

Another ANC official to be paid for sitting on their arse and doing nothing, what a waste of time.

KW Miller is available to help and take charge. But the ANC is not willing to do what is necessary.

When in doubt throw comrades at the problem.

Outside intervention? Really where have you been? ANC has been running Eskom. Eskom is ANC. They caused the problem noone else. Whats changed? Whats wrong with you?

I thought the cabinet was part of the presidency. Ministers of ministers president of presidents. The hall of answers has a very small door.
