I live on the coast. I would spray everything down a week before and every couple days, respray everything. Then when trying to break it loose. Put a tiny bit of 'tighten' on it and then start to break loose. I have a series of wobbly sockets that allow me to use an impact everywhere. The shaking will help make things come apart. A tighten then reverse makes it come apart easier. Remember to respray everything so that if you need to fix it again or your son needs to fix it, it will be easier with a coat of thread penetrant already under the dirt.. Since it is a Volvo, your grandkids may be working on it...cheers, stuntgirl

Note it's very important to tighten the LCA bolts with the suspension loaded. Jack the end of the control arm under the ball joint to take the weight of the car. This aligns the bushings and prevents early failure.

So the mechanics at brake masters said the whole lower control arms are bad, 900$ and more... but my buddy said the bushings only need replaced on my volvo xc70 2005

I just want to note, its basically impossible to do this at home, unless you have an industrial press. A harbor freight press is not nearly wide enough to do it. His press is like 4' wide.

Notice he fitted the bush in the arm the wrong way round. Should be wide side to the chassis.

Dude, you did it wrong. You have to remove drive shaft from the hub, then its easy to align screws and bushing
