Well said! The "information diet" or confirmation bias is at the root cause of the huge divide we see in the U.S. atm. It's a big problem we're unlikely to see resolved without more people understanding how the brain works.

Most of the debates are not the debates. Rather those are the quarrel.
Humans are the only species which have such a thinking capability. And ironically, we human beings mostly take actions on the basis of our feelings and not the thinking capability.

As I’m continuing a degree in History, my ignorance is on display internally pretty much all the time. Fascinating but also incredibly humbling, it’s more inclined to intuitive questioning and listening then it is proclaiming knowledge on a subject. There will always be something else/more to be said

I don't gather much from debates they seem to be more sport and entertainment. Most the debates I've ever watched have led to the followers of the participants becoming more engrained in their ideals and quarrelsome in their protection. Not to mention the amount of "debates" where logical falicies are thrown around like the peak of reasoning or the arguments I have seen reduced into absurdity or how every audience seems to just go with the guy who doesn't stutter and talks fast. Debates are sport in my eyes, nothing more. Discussions are what need to happen. Not debates framed with a winner, loser, and an audience who is invested in their side winning, owning the libs or what have you. We need to discuss our ideals and form a collaboration of ideas.
