💡What was your biggest takeaway from this? Let me know!

1. Simple gear
(wide lens, microphone on the top)
2. Changing locations and the way to filming will improve engaging
3. Simple editing because of the way of filming. (make a lot of different shots)
4. If you don`t change the location you should make a zoom
5. Plan the video is the key. It makes viewer more engaged and speed up the process of making a video.

Notes like this just help me learn more effective.

He actually said in an interview I saw that he really DOESNT plan. He has an idea, rolls with it, will walk away at times and come back. Edits purely chronological, doesnt color grade, goes through catalogs of music and uses it as a crutch in certain areas. The way he does it is purely by his instinct, to others it seems planned and the interviewer asked him all this stuff about how he does it and he shot down all preconceptions the person had.

Thanks, great breakdown!
The only thing I would add - do not keep your camera at auto - keep it at Shutter Priority, for example 1/60 for 30fps shot. That way you will always have consistent motion blur, but camera will automatically adjust aperture and ISO.

I've done this in some of my vlogs. It does get super easy when it's editing time. Gotta get back to those cuts again. Great video Omar

I love how this video tells you to change locations to keep the audience engaged as he tells us from a chair with no location changes. Haha.

Love thinkmedia. It’s been a big help to my channel.

Really helpful observations, Omar! My big takeaway is your emphasis on planning … Casey‘s videos look so spontaneous b/c he tosses a lot of creativity into a planned framework. Planning the overall framework of our videos keeps us from diluting effectiveness. I love the thought that goes something like “come prepared, and be prepared for spontaneity.” 😊

My take away is emphasis on planning which is super important in any content creation. Thanks !!

I pretty much have the exact same setup and it just works. I'm the same way with my music setup. I'm a brand new YT channel, so it's imperative that I can just walk into my studio, hit record, and go.

This is giving me some really good ideas about how to switch it up with camera angles. Also thx for putting the links to the camera gear

I have always been impressed with the amount of effort and time Casey puts into even the most simplest scene in his vlogs. nstead of one shot of him talking and has like 5 different shots. I know he puts in a ton of work to get those all done. Great video by the way. Appreciate you sharing this.

Thanks man for the video! I can only imagine being a Casey and getting millions of views after I upload the video. But unfortunately, I'm not Casey so I have to find other ways and use Famester as well.

I love how I’ve reached the point as an editor where I knew the edits Casey did in the clips you showed without needing the explanation. Also, I saw that Casey sat still in the transition to the “other camera” (same camera) so that it looked like he literally looked at another camera, I normally do that when I forget a word and have to pull out the script from my pocket lol
