I think his problem was that he was there to trash God and once that was off the table, because the point was ceded, he realized the focus would be on defending his position rather than being on offense.

As someone who has been on both sides of the question, like most people, at different points in my life, I am interested in this debate. It was a letdown to see one side just give up under a bit of heat. He came off as a bully that couldn’t take a punch.

Truth is that he is accustomed to prior Christian debaters who are polite in the face of all of the attacks. He came out swinging!! Matt responded in kind and he’s not accustomed to that.

I used to watch the Atheist experience 10 (or more?) years ago when Matt hosted the show and he really used to LOVE TRIGGERING religious people (especially Christians) into rage quitting. It was like another 'notch' on the bed post for him. Interesting to watch him react when the shoe is on the other foot.

From the very beginning Matt tried to position Andrew as an unworthy opponent when he admitted he’d done no research on Andrew. That is classic narcissism, as was Matt’s excuses for walking off. I’ve never seen people like Hitchens, Douglas Murray, or Jordan Peterson walk away from a debate.

Gotta love how the moderator or whoever tried to hold Andrew accountable for his "parting shot" when the other clown clearly called him a jackass moments before. We live in a weird society where everyone tries to tie half the population's hands behind their backs for free suckerpunches. And if you defend or retaliate, you're in the wrong.
