I just thought she talked because we as the players remain mostly silent, so she was trying her best to keep us company. Otherwise it would be boring mindless grinding game just reading your main character interactions.

I always wondered why the traveler has almost no dialogue, and this actually makes perfect sense.

There’s also the lore reason: paimon knows the language of teyvat but the traveler doesn’t know it as well.

Lorewise i believe that the traveller doesn't know the language of Teyvat, and Paimon is still teaching them our language which is why traveller doesn't talk much & paimon speaks for both of them. Which is why at the start when they fight the unknown god, they don't say anything other than eachother's names because names are the same in every language.

There’s also a voiceline in-game that talks about paimon apparently teaching the traveler the language of teyvat, which is pretty good excuse to why they don’t talk

i think the reason that traveler doesn’t speak as much is because we didn’t know teyvats language in the first place, paimon teach us. (information in the language voice line on traveler)

I actually like Paimon. I truly enjoy her jokes, snarky remarks, ugly nicknames, and emotional support. She truly is the best companion I like to tease her whenever the dialogue let's me☺️

No what i hate is not paimon talking for us its when paimon literally repeats 70% of things other characters say there should be an option in the settings called im above the age of 8 and can understand whats happening that removes all these pointless dialogues
Its even more hilarious that there are multiple points in the story where something happens and after paimon asks if you understood that and it literally dosnt matter what you pick it still forces u to listen as she takes 5 minutes to explain the 15 min of dialogue u just listened to

its also because aether/lumine (whichever twin u chose) isnt used to teyvats language bc in one of the voice lines 'about language' aether/lumine tells paimon shes a good teacher of teyvats language

I honestly love when paimon talks. Sure her voice now bcme a higher tone and probably one reason why people dislike it. But for me it's cute, and her lines are actually funny for me. Itto and paimon are the only people I don't skip their dialogs when they talk
