How I afford my $4,990 NYC Apartment | My TRUE success story

After posting my three-part New York apartment series, I received a lot of questions on how I afford it and why I would pay that much money for rent. I get it! It is a lot of money and I did not come from wealth. Today I am sharing my true story of how I went from being jobless and having only $300 in the bank while living with my parents at 28 to building my own successful business, achieving the career of my dreams, and making a six-figure income in a two-year period. I share this because I want to make it clear that:
1. Anyone can do this is they try their best!
2. I did not get handed this life. It was a lot of hard work.
I hope that this story can inspire you to take a leap and do that thing you always dreamed of doing because there is a real chance that you can make it happen too!

My first instinct was to be a smart ass about the high rent…but then I listened to you. Listened to how your turned something you love into a your life. About how you learned and grew, and you didn’t let your ego run off and got help. Now I’m in awe of you, you’re amazing.

As a small business owner myself, I can also add that another reason they can afford that apartment is that they can write a portion of their rent off their taxes because they use one of the bedrooms as a dedicated office space. That helps A LOT.

Sarah's tour is the one of the best things I did in NYC. I seriously can't recommend it enough.

Sarah, let me tell you this. After so many years watching nonsense and reckless things on YouTube about creating a business (most of them trying to sell absurd ideas of how to hack the path to success), you gave one of the most impressive testimonies. You gave numbers, steps, timeframes. But what stroke me the most was your humble posture. I watch your videos because of the big apple, and all of a sudden, I got this bonus lesson video of flesh and bone entrepreneurship. That’s legit!

Whoa. How much life can change in the span of a couple years.I also sent you a message after my NYC trip, and was not expecting a reply at all (thinking oh she probably gets a bunch every day) and I must say it was nice to see that you DID in fact reply, and to hear you mention that it makes you happy to hear it is also nice. Happy for you Sarah!

I'm one of the people that binge watched almost your entire series before visiting New York for the first time in early January (it was the trip I've been dreaming of my entire life and still can't believe I got to go), I flooded the family group with links of each video I needed my sisters and hubby to see! You made our experience a million times better! Thank you so much for every little tip you share! I know it's a huge amount of effort.

Sarah, very good and informative video. I congratulate you on your success. Very well deserved. I do agree that NYC will ultimately bounce back. That said, I too am a lifetime NYer who lived here through the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s when NYC (and particularly the boroughs) was in deep decline and am seeing and experiencing many of same things today. I think that changes in the workplace are going to have a strong impact on how people and companies view living/working in the city going forward. I wish you all the best and am happy you found a great apartment. Stay well.

We were part of your Dumbo foodie tour in November 2019, featured in 9:28. You took one our favorite pics from that trip. So fun! Best wishes to you and Luis!

I don't remember how I found your channel on YouTube but I enjoyed all your NYC guides . It was very helpful and informative for us prior to our move in NYC in August 2019 . I especially like the video guide on the different neighborhoods in NYC ... it helped us explore other much less known neighborhood 😊. Your video in Dubai was very helpful to us ... I watched it several times and took notes prior to our trip in 2/2020. I can't wait for this crisis to end so we all can travel again. Keep up what you are doing . Love your channel 😍
