I got it on June 23rd, and the only performance issue is that it takes, oh, an extra 5-10 seconds for the hard drive to settle down when booting. It can run every program I have installed and switch between them flawlessly. Last time I checked a complete restart took under 2 minutes (neighbor's new Mac is way slower). I have fairly modest specs. Of course, many PCs are slower than slugs.... I've known Macs to have issues. But in general as far as Mac vs PC, I agree that it depends who you are.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but.... I have a ThinkPad L412, 2.26 GHz i3, 3 GB RAM. Re security: AVG Free runs its schedule scan in the background and I don't even notice a drain in performance. And it never comes across viruses, and I never have issues. In fact, I went months on my HP without any antivirus software. Granted, my web activity is limited to a few sites and email, but I think that the "Macs never get viruses" argument is a moot point, unless you frequent malicious sites.

I really want to get a macbook or macbook pro but I don't have the money which is a shame but hopefully someday I can try out OSX

FYI to install snow leopard you have to have own a mac which meas you spent at least twice as much on the computer in the first place.

@santoroma17 Lots, desktop or laptop? Budget? How much power do you need? MacBook Pros are great, but so are iMacs.

@wapochief an iMac I believe, if you gave it only 4BG of RAM would kill your machine. Especially one with a core i5.

Since you mention hardware If you're comparing your Macbook Pro to some Dell laptop or most other mass produced computers then I agree the Mac is built better with higher quality in mind which is why they can demand a higher price. However, as far as desktop PCs are concerned there is no contest. You can custom build a PC with MUCH higher quality (and i mean MUCH higher), capability, storage and graphics power that will outperform anything Apple manufactures to date for less money.

I've been a Windows user for many years. I still love it. Personally, Windows 7 is the best OS Microsoft ever made. Its very stable and its compatible with my older programs.

Of course Windows has viruses, due to its popularity in the market. Always keep your computer updated and install an Anti virus software.

What I think about OS X? Well, i never used it. Although, I read articles about it. And its a decent OS.

@09ThomasEF - agree, if you are even slightly educated when it comes to doing anything online these days you will have a anti-virus program and firewall installed. Despite all the different software brands (most of these brands have a version for Macs too, hmm) they all protect you from most problems with minimal end user attention and some of the best ones are free or preloaded.

very nice vid. well balanced haha. I would love to have a Mac capable of OSX 10.6 but cant even close to begin to be able to afford one. o well haha.
