If the installed CPU has the GPU built in and the multimonitor iGPU option is enabled, you can run second monitor into its video output. This also allows you to use its video encoder. Also, if the dedicated GPU fails for some reason, you have a backup, which is not as performant, however it will keep the computer usable. The only requirement is the presence of iGPU in the CPU.

What he doesnt mention about xmp is that sometimes your pc might not be able to run X.M.P (or D.O.C.P) and also different motherboards may have different bios keys then delete such as F2 or F10

No. 1 could differ a higher end yes gpu only if it's a lower end prebuilt desktop it could be integrated graphics in which case the motherboard is your only option, others are correct

A lot of this is for when you got new POWERFUL pc, maybe you also got a potato PC:
1) There might be no GPU in that PC, then you need to use integrated graphics (plug in the motherboard) and also then you don't need to download software
2) It's also said HDMI or DisplayPort - you might have VGA or DVI instead
3) XMP is also can be called DOCP/EXPO
4) Or you might not even have XMP, if you have like DDR2 in it
