The beginning of the best TV couple in history. They made the show so much better by introducing us to Amy, and it was a pretty good show already. I think the invention of Shamy is what kept the show going so long.

Amy is by far the character that changed the most throughout the series. At the beginning she was a female Sheldon, just as much of a weirdo as him. But then she became a completely normal person, sometimes even a party animal like Penny.

This is when the show got infinitely better for me. The first couple of seasons were pretty generic, but when Amy came on board, as well as Bernadette, that's when the show began to expand its strengths.
