Don't destroy stairs. Destroy the tile at the top of the stairs. It takes less time and can be reversed much easier by rebuilding a wooden floor tile. Stairs take more resources to rebuild.

Pillars have a use but it's not an absolute must. It will seal the gaps that player built walls have when a N-S wall meets up with an E-W wall.

You can barricade windows and doors from both sides for more strength

From what I can tell, dismantling things gives more XP than building, or at least faster XP. Find a hammer and/or a saw, and whenever you raid a house for goods dismantle as many things as you're able to. I leveled up twice in a day by dismantling a bunch of beds at a motel.

I would recommend going into a School and disassemble the big Tables in the Kantine, there´s like 20 of them in one Spot and they give almost the same amount of Exp as the large Beds. With the Beginner book and fast learner i needed only 6 of them from 0 to lvl 2

The pillar is for the gap that sometimes is in the corner of two wall sections

building a 2/f garden with a 3f rooftop with water barrels for plumbing = complete freedom. and in urban maps like Raven Creek, I connect each building with wood bridges AFTER I make sure they are zombie free and no longer have any stairs that the undead can use. cheers!

Thank you. I have a well over a hundred hours in this game, but I have only recently come back to PZ after 18 months. Your guides have helped me, as such here's one like and a new sub. Cheers and good luck with future vids.

my base is near a werehouse which is of course full of crates and instead of just chopping trees something a normal person would do, i emptied all of the stuff that was in the crates (mostly stuff i didn't need at the time) and just went mayhem on disassembling all of them and got all of the planks in a van.

In the footage where u had to fight a zed when u wanted to disassemple the bed u could close the door before that, and then take care of that zed after disassembling the bed

Windows and doors can be barricades on both side for extra durability

I've been playing all day. Everything I break down gives me scrap wood. I have found only 1 plank & 2 nails. I have ran all around my town. Nothing.

I'm just supposed to luck into a freaking saw??? WTF?
