Gardenin- I mean farming, is a huge part of surviving in Zomboid. How else are you gonna get food trapping? fishing? no, that's lame.

I had an Aero Garden going in my apartment IRL, and it got that Devil's Water Fungi thing for real. I had no idea what it was, or how to stop it. It necrotized the stalks, and spread to all the other plants. I ended up having to dispose of all the plants I'd been growing for about 4 months, and sterilize the grower with bleach and hot water. It was a great learning experience, because I made the mistake during a time I could afford to lose my crops, do more research, and try again.

Would have really sucked to have it happen in a time where society and infrastructure were collapsed. Be grateful IRL that we can still go to the grocery store if our home grown food goes kaput.

It would be nice if you could make rooftop planters for immersion; just a few planks and the dirt make for a perfectly fine plant bed

Speaking of immersion breaking, you can farm during the freezing cold of winter, your crops will just yield less

I don’t understand why some folks say “I didn’t survive long enough” like there isn’t the option to spawn a new character in the same save. I like to keep going, so it isn’t more of a waste of time. Forest Ranger Hideaway mod is a great place to learn all the mechanics from building to farming with relative safety. I am but a month or so in and there hasn’t been crazy migration yet. Living in the woods with a lake nearby is perfect for beginners.

I have my little garden, with the fence I BUILT next to my house. That's so cozy and cute.
But I heard and it's official a new '' disease '' is coming in b42. Snails or slugs.

My grandmother used to have a bucket filled with beer. That smell drives them crazy for some reason, and when arriving on top, they fall and drow.

I still got devils water fungi even after I kept my plants clean. I soon found out tho that devils water fungi appears when too much water is added to the crops therefore you should keep your plants at the fine level of water. :)

I don't think rooftop gardens break my immersion, there were Rooftop Koreans in real life. Planted the seeds of freedom in our state at a time of turmoil and retardation. In fact the moment you mentioned it I was amazed to find out that the Institute shines eternal. The age of Agrarian Reform begins.
