I think you got your canon mixed up. Sonic x and the Sonic movies aren’t canon in the same universes. Sure everything is canon but not all events happen in the same timeline. For instance in the games Sonic lives on earth but everywhere else it’s mobius. As of Sonic generations Sonic is 16 but after that we aren’t sure. The best guess is there there is about a year of time between generations and frontiers. For any wondering that means the only events in between those two is forces and the idw comics. So with that info we can assume he is 17.

The movies aren’t canon. Mobius and Earth are the same planet in the game universe. So Sonic’s “Longclaw” backstory isn’t set in the game canon. Plus, if the movies were canon to the games, that would have so many recons like the origins of the chaos emeralds. Or even Eggman’s origin story. He started out wanting world domination in the games while in the movies he started out as a government agent. Also, Sonic X isn’t canon since it retcons Adventure 1 and 2.

Sonic does age, in the classic games he’s 10 or 12. In sonic adventure he’s 14 in the 2010 era he’s 15 and it’s his birthday during sonic generations meaning he is now 16.
