What you’re seeing here is a backyard hornet farm in Guangxi, China. Each of these massive, egg-shaped paper nests houses thousands of Asian hornets. They are smaller cousins of the infamous Asian giant hornets, also known as murder hornets. Both have a bad reputation as invasive species, but here, they are just food.

a) I never would have guessed that you can keep even two hornet nests right next to each other without a war, much less so many in an enclosed space
