McConnell calls GOP leaders after freezing mid-news conference: He ‘was in good spirits’

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has reportedly been calling fellow Republican leaders after freezing again during a news conference. A spokesperson for Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.) said, “The leader sounded like his usual self and was in good spirits.” Benjy Sarlin, Eugene Robinson and Danielle Pletka join the Meet the Press NOW roundtable to discuss.

My own mother had 10-12 Transient ischemic attacks (TIA's) which are like mini-strokes - before she had a massive paralyzing one - and that is what appears to be happening w/ McConnell. He should resign, both in his own self interest and that of the country.

we have a serious issue with sitting senators and supreme court justices who are not fit to stay in office from a health capacity. Really need term limits on top of health screenings. When they are no longer mentally or physically capable of doing the job they should be removed from office. It isn't ageism to remove someone from office who is no longer mentally or physically capable of doing the job.

Some say Mitch should be able to stay in congress even if he freezes, falls and gives us his middle finger. If Mitch were your surgeon you wouldn't be saying that just because he might freeze during surgery to leave him alone and let him retire when he wants to. Dementia can be a terrible burden to deal with. I sympathize with the problem but also realize that it should preclude a person's participation in certain positions and activities.
