I thought the same thing. I am mostly annoyed because EA is a behemoth and Paralives developers are like 7 or 8 people at this point and Paralives had to change their paramaker mechanic because of some BS patent EA pulled, but then they see the success of what Paralives showed and they directly ripped off a lot of those ideas. Like great make better games EA but also allow Paralives to exist beside you.

It looks waaay too similar to ‘Paralives’ art style! (So far, I’ll have to see the actual Sims too and see later development to truly determine.)
I still play TS3 (I prefer that style to TS4 - which I’ve never played) so I have use of CAS & the colour wheel; so they obviously KNEW one of their biggest mistakes and are rectifying it.
I really feel like TS are threatened by Paralives - and they should be! Because Paralives will be getting my monies, not them! 🤭

I know the style is similar, but changing the pattern and color wheel was in sims 3. That is why the game was so laggy in CAS and Build/Buy. I think Paralives and Rene look very nice, but for me it’s going to come down to gameplay. If Rene is just like sims 4 with good build/buy and CAS, but no gameplay it’s not worth it. I already sunk a crap load of money into 4. I don’t want them to leave it a broken buggy mess like Sims 3 especially with Island Paradise. You couldn’t even live there even with a good ish computer it would stutter and crash rather quickly. Although at least in sims 3 you could use the island stuff in other worlds. So it wasn’t a total loss.
