This is good detailed information and advice. Good teaching!
One thing I learned in doing sleights is that they are the unseen/hidden glory maneuvers that is worked on so diligently to master. (and only you the performer appreciate.)
So many instinctively fail to make it look like nothing suspiciously happened.
Practice what Reid is teaching.
Unlearn the bad habits that flash or telegraph the unnatural manipulation.
E.E.T. (Exact Execution of Technique), meaning that when executing the sleight it should be done in a smooth and flowing manner as if all you are doing is simply showing a random selected card.
