Great help, just, the path looks like: Root_folder [separator] Parent_folder, so for long paths this doesn't show the full path, yet the step still works if you click on the Parent_folder, later it opens the parent folder in SharePoint and you will see whole path over there.

This seems to work if it is a Word file, but I do not have those clickable locations if it is a PDF file. What would be the solution for that type of file?

Another great video as always Greg! 👏 . Please keep making them 🙂….

Question: if one of your fans have a request on “How to do something in Sharepoint” is there any way we can send you a message for that particular request?

Thank you for this video but it doesn't solve my problem - for me it doesn't show the full file path, but just the Team and then the immediate folder the document is in. It doesn't show me the additional folder(s) in between, so I cannot navigate to the the folder I want within Teams itself. (Also not helped by the fact that it doesn't seem possible to search for folders within Teams, only for files). Any ideas?

Crazy enough that the folder path is not just part of the default search result view of a library. Looking at the number of viewers of this video, this looks like a somewhat in demand feature. But how can I see the path of files that are only available for download, like Power BI pbix files?

Hmm, This should work for my (Office) Publisher files, but it doesn't seem to be there. Recently, when I searched documents in SharePoint I eventually found the publisher file I was looking for, but couldn't find it's path even with this method. Later I found that if I did the same search for all of my sharepoint account, not just documents on one site, then it showed the path in the search results. Of course I was probably only able to find it with this method as it was a document I had recently viewed. Otherwise it would have been buried in other search results as I only had the keyword, "late" to go from.

Is there a way to convert that URL to a local file path, so we can open it in a browser as a local path or in file explorer

How about PDF file? It is shockingly amazing how hard it is in the age of technology to achieve such a simple thing - find out the path of a file in Sharepoint. This product never stops disapointing me.

Is there a way to do this for non-Microsoft Office documents? (e.g. JPG, PDF, PSD, etc.)?

Doesn't work if it's a PDF and opens in a browser.
