Pen y Fan Wild Camp hiking from Brecon to the Brecon Beacons during Winter with Vango Force Ten Tent
Показать описание
Wild Camping on the Brecon Beacons, we hiked from Brecon Town after parking near the Old Barracks of the 24th regiment of Foot "The South Wales Borderers" (famous for the Actions at Rorkes Drift and Isandlwana in the Zulu War 1879 ( A great Museum dedicated to the Royal Welsh Regiment is situated in the Barracks ), crossing the river Usk to approach the central Brecon Beacons from the North, camping at 1900 feet / 579 meters in the venerable Vintage "Vango Force Ten tent", dated 1970. A two person tent but big enough for three of us on this climb. We expected low winds and clear sky's but where quickly clagged in above 1500 feet / 457 meters with high cold winds (a typical winter Camp on the Beacons). We summited Corn Du, Pen y Fan 886 Meters / 2906 feet and Cribin returning via the old Roman road to Brecon.
Hope you enjoy this Wild camp adventure in the Brecon Beacons 🤠🏔️👍
