What strikes me, is how innocently everything starts. Helping someone. Going outside for a second and being distracted. How it could almost happen to anyone, given the right circumstances. We like to think we’re smarter than that. I’m sure they did, too.

There was a convenience store across from a place I worked back in the 1980's, in Brentwood, Tn, USA. I stopped in there often in the morning on my way to work. One morning, the place was roped off. The really nice lady who worked there had been murdered earlier that morning. To my knowledge, they never caught the killer. I still feel distress to this day when I think about it.

It’s raining. The roads are more dangerous. That’s why people are trying to be more careful. Don try to overtake people on a rainy night like this. It’s super dangerous.

Depending on where you live, breaking into someone's house while they're home might be considered an odd form of suicide.
Police can show up real quick. Years ago, I called the police on a neighbor because I suspected a serious fight was going in, and they were there in less than two minutes. I guess they were on patrol close, but they showed up quick and dragged a guy off.
If in doubt, lock the doors, call the police.

I still don’t get how in the USA people who own the petrol stations/gas stations don’t protect their staff?! why aren’t they locked at night?
In the UK the petrol stations are locked at night you can’t go inside to protect the staff working there,
You can still buy petrol/ gas and other items from the shop but the person working there has a slot they put the items through and they get the items from the shop not the customer, the customer can’t go inside at all, which is so much safer for the workers, the petrol stations/gas stations are also made with bullet resistant glass

Story 3: there aren’t many people as stupid at this person I’ve seen in these stories. First you hear the doorbell ring and no one’s there, next you hear stuff crashing in the backyard and just see a mf dude there and finish putting ur furniture up against the house and go inside to “escape the rain”, forget to lock the back door after you just saw a literal man in ur backyard, AND GO TO SLEEP ON THE COUCH… This person needs a guardian present at all times. Or better yet be put in a home. I don’t think I’ve ever genuinely rooted for the home intruder like I did halfway through this story. It’s hard for me to believe this’s a real story
