AMAZING.
I was using my phone and the screen just flashed black. I still could feel haptics and navigate around via muscle memory. I could even use quick tap to turn flashlight on and off. Touch screen worked, but display wasn't showing anything...
This fixed it. I truly thought my $900 device just bricked after 2 weeks, but this video saved the day.

Thanks for the advice. Had the phone a month and love it but noticed that while it was playing music, the screen was completely black and nothing would work yet I could felt it vibrating with using the volume buttons. Hopefully it will not happen again but I appreciate the advice :D

This does not fix the original problem !!!!, all this does is reset the phone until the Black Screen reappears later.

it's not a Google only problem.

I own a Samsung A03 and it first lagged crazy as I was compressing a video. then system UI crashed and screen went black and freaked out. pressed power etc nothing.

pressed the power button in quick succession..1 2 3 4 5 up to don't know how much maybe 20 times..suddenly Samsung logo. it worked.

if it ever happens again I'll use volume up and power.

but again remember this isn't a pixel phones only problem. Samsung also has black screens. often caused by a faulty app or imho GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES often is a culprit for os errors.

This did the trick. I bought a pixel 7 a few months ago after my old phone (pixel 4) did this and the screen wouldn't turn on despite being able to recieve calls, charge it, ring it from find device, etc. after days of trying. I was about ready to freak out when this new phone suddenly had the same exact issue but thank god restarting it worked.

Ahh Thank God! It worked Thanks alot I littelary had my Pixel 7 for a week when in the middle of YouTube video the screen just went black, the sound was still on however i could do nothing, i started freaking out pressing buttons when it somehow dialed 911 what a nightmare, anyway its done and over with now, the 911 operator was not impressed. 🤦
