AUTOMATED BONSAI SYSTEM TUTORIAL | SkyFactory 4

A detailed tutorial for an automated hopper bonsai system in Sky Factory 4. This system includes; Inspirations, Bonsai Trees, Thermal Dynamics, Barrels, Drums, Storage & More, Cyclic, Applied Energistics 2

If you need a cheaper setup that is even expandable you can optimize the following things also making this available a bit earlier:
a) You can of course use a double-chest (saving the hopper).
b) Also you can save on the hardened servos and only use normal servos to extract items from the chest to the itemducts. Note that this will force you to build the setup without the need of a whitelist bigger than 3 items.
c) You can save on the trash can saving you the second servo. This would force you to set up a crate for every item type (wood, sticks, leafes and so on). Of course this setup will not not be as slick as the one in the video :) as you need to build pillars of crates. Also this saves one servo per production line.
Hint: If your servo turns red on the outside you miss a crate. Have a look at your chest what item is stacking up and set up another crate for it.


If you want to expand a production line to more than two hopping bonsais per tree type you can simply build higher. Make sure to keep at least 1 full block of air above the bonsais (making it nearly 2 blocks), then place the next double chest running into the itemducts and attach a servo to it. If the bonsai stops growing you built the chests a block too low.
If you choose this route you can also place the trash can above the last crate and attach it with a Filter/Hardened Filter. The whitelist/blacklist thing is the same. But i recommend blacklisting because you probably need less slots.

Folders in cabinets seem to be easier and more effective than this. Folders had infinite (Aka Max Numeric Value), and it's cheaper, more effective, smaller, and easier to set up.

You could also use filing cabinets for items since each folder is a infinite storage

for some reason the itemducts don't work for me, items don't go into the bin or crates no matter what filter I put and I'm not on prestige, do the itemducts need energy or is it an update?

Actually o know a way to simplify this system connect the bonsai pot to the crates with itemducts and a servo that only allows acorns and resin to be taken out of the bonsai pot
