"The Journey' was written in 1993 by Tommy Emmanuel and David Hirschfelder for the album, 'The Journey', which went double platinum in Australia and won the Aria Award in 1994 for Best Adult Contemporary Album of the Year. The original recording had 72 tracks, featuring a full band as well as orchestra, bagpipes, didgeridoos, indigenous percussion and even real thunder! The sound was by Brad Benge, and the video wad directed by Clara Emmanuel.
