Saying that someone would not look at you for having just a ccna is absurd. I got into a junior network engineer job with just my ccna. I have been in that position for a year and almost ready to take my ccnp encor. You will learn so much hands on when you get the position. If you have your ccna, apply and show that you want to learn and you will be just fine. Cheers

I don't know if Keith will ever see this but thank you for your videos and helping me pass my CCNA. I got a job immediately after getting it and it has literally changed the trajectory of my life. Amazing video. I'm still bummed my company no longer provides INE access.

i was one of those people who (because of the military) had to speed thru my certification, then looked for a job in the civilian sector living in fear of being exposed for not knowing much. thankfully, they taught me most of what i didnt know on the job and were super patient. so dont be afraid to start before you're ready, if you land the job then you're ready and/or they'll teach you whatever you need to know.

I only studied for CCNA years ago and didn't get the cert, but goin thru this path will definitely help me stand out of the rest! Am gonna try to work on to get those !

People get so many mixed signals from the industry. One person will tell you networking is dead except for the really senior level so prepare to study for 10 years and the other person is telling you that you can get a job within 1 to 2 years 😋

Awesome video!. I had previous background in IT. I did an online CCENT course but never certified. However after I did the Google Network course, I read the CCNA books and Network+, with that I got a dual job in the CAD field since I am an Industrial Designer, but they really need also someone who can understand Networks. I got so much experience because I was able to do everything from structuring cable, active directory, solving huge mess of networks IPs, network deployment, VoIP, backups. VMs, site-to-site remote connections, accounting software with remote access. So I decided to change my career completely and moving to the CISCO family. I am finishing the CCST course fron NetCad, from the very beginning, and planning to continue with CCNA. I will highly recommended not jumping to CCNA if you do not have a background in IT or a experience in the IT field, do the CCST first. There are a lot of abstract concepts that would take you a lot of time to comprehend without experience. Everyone need Networks. This video is amazing, nothing to waste.

I really appreciate Keith's honesty and his practical perspective. In my social circle, the common advice is usually just to get your CCNA and call it a day. But as he mentioned, it looks like everyone has the CCNA and pushing for ENCORE is potentially away to stick out. Additionally, something that hasn't been emphasized enough is volunteering or shadowing someone in the field. It might seem daunting, but I'm definitely going to give it a try.

Getting my CCNA but I’m also seeing a lot of companies are outsourcing

This was extremely helpful, I'm pivoting from administrative work with an undergrad degree in Journalism. I've always had strong interests in I.T and networking but wasn't ready to pivot back then. Now, I have more resources, drive, time and a better understanding of what I have to do going foreword and I'm optimistic about starting my journey to get my CCNA! End goal is CCIE but shorter term, CCNA and then CCNP :)

Getting out of the military soon and hoping to get my first networking job. In the military I am definintly a jack of all trades because some times you can't rely on anyone else to fix your stuff when your in the middle of nowhere. But my main job is on the networking side and I am hoping to get my CCNA soon!

As a pre-university student, I have learnt a lot from your videos and it truly gave me an insight into networking in general. Thank you for putting out your resources online for free, as it really helps people like me who genuinely want to learn.

Keith is the truth! I always include his INE content in my networking education resources. Juniper, Cisco, CheckPoint, you name it! Nice to hear he did time in TAC. That's my goal followed by Cisco Crisis Response.

I can say that Keith is my best mentor and INE has huge influence passing my CCNA, this man is beyond best, his CCNA course is the best i ever seen, making topics so easy giving such details that you become confident you know that topic. Wish he did CCNP Encor and Enarsi from zero, because it would be best thing ever

the way how cisco ask questions or giving tasks in the exam result in learning theory without any practical benefit / relevance.
i see ccna is s great foundation for proving u have a general IT skill because u understand the physical engineering on OSI layer models.

Home lab is a great way or may I say tool that would allow you to gain hands on experience in Networking and ICT
