I'm not sure how much this will come into play, but in the Long Halloween/Dark Victory arc, Sofia was an absolute giant. Very tall, broad shouldered with strength to match, she was her father's brutal and cunning soldier.

This Sofia looks rather fragile if not dainty compared to the Long Halloween/Dark Victory Sofia.

"The Batman" is not needed in the Penguin. If Batman was fixing ALL the crime then Gotham would be Metropolis. I think it sets up a story structure that states that Gotham is has too much crime for Batman to take on alone. There's also a power scaling effect when the criminals are not stopped it leads way to hierarchy of villainy and sets the stage fore "super villains" like The Joker. When you do see Batman again it gives you the idea that he's fighting a losing battle and his effort are in vane. just my take on it

I wouldn't be put off that there's no mention of Batman in this series depending on the amount of destruction Cobblepot and his enemies causing. Gotham is a city full of violence. We can assume Batman has plenty of work to do.

Saw it this morning – it’s really, really good. 70s crime drama vibes. VERY character driven! Colin Farrell knocked it out of the park with The Batman (completely upstaging Patterson). Now we just get him, with no distractions. Compare this to Gotham – a different galaxy!

With all the shit of The Acolyte, Rings of Power and Agatha – it’s relief to have something that I don’t have to loose brain cells over.

Vic/Victor – a side character. But I remember his name. THAT’S how good it is, because I’m invested in the show.
