Cody Fry- Eleanor Rigby Lyrics

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby
Picks up the rice in the church where the wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window
Wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
Father Mackenzie
Writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working
Darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
All the lonely people (all the lonely people)
All the lonely people (all the lonely people)
All the lonely people (all the lonely people)
Eleanor Rigby
Died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father Mackenzie
Wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved
All the lonely people
All the lonely people
(Ah, look at all the lonely people)
(Ah, look at all the lonely people)
(Ah, look at all the lonely people)

Can we all agree that Cody Fry’s songs sound like they’re from Broadway musicals and cinematic masterpieces?

Me and the snail finally meeting each other as the sun explodes feeling the breeze from the explosion hit our faces while we look at each other.

I like how it sounds like one of those PG movie intro soundtracks than turns into a masterpeice

I prefer this version to the original because of the orchestra tbh. The original is great but this one feels more melancholic while the original is a bit too cheery for me

who else thinks that the long intro is good for a movie opening?

This song makes me see things from a different perspective. It shows that I'm alone and I can fend for myself

What this song brings to my mind is a person imprisoned in loneliness. A
person who has no family, no friends, who has lost their dreams to
circumstance and misery yet persistently tries to stay afloat, managing
to keep a smile on their face even though it feels fake at times, hoping
that things get better. That person witnessing a beautiful scene, a
wedding after which they will have to clean up. Where the couple is in
love, their family surrounds them, their friends cheering for them,
everyone is happy and excited knowing the newlyweds are going to live a
dreamlike life. They dance and sing and spin! A beautiful scene that the
lonely person will never get to experience firsthand. That's when the
numbness spreads throughout their body and a single tear escapes their
eye. "Ah" they think, "That's what happiness looks like". That's when
that person realizes they have nothing, no one. That's when they
collapse under loneliness' weight. That's when they break.

My dad told me about this song just last night, and now I'm literally obsessed with both the original and this version. This sounds like a dark reprise to the first and I love it so much!

Just heard this song live with a real symphony. Cody Fry is a genius performer and so talented and charismatic. One of the best experiences I’ll ever have in my life!

My son had to find a good Beatles cover for his high school orchestra class and do a slideshow presentation on it and this is the song he chose. Even printed out little headstones for Eleanor Rigby and his teacher and the entire class said this was the best presentation, they had never heard this rendition

A perfect dramatic song when I will finally meet the snail, making a very good dramatic scene.

His voice is so beautiful. I’ve never seen his face or anything but I’d like to melt into his arms right about now

He stands over my beaten and bloody body, I’m weak and can feel the chill of death reaching me. He laughs as he begins to gloat.
“You really thought you could kill me!? C’mon man you’re history’s greatest fool if you thought you’d kill someone immortal”

I laugh at him, spitting blood with each chuckle.
“Hehe, you’re not as immortal as you think boy”
His smile falls from his face, seeing the truth in my eyes.
“Wha…what are you saying?”

I pull myself up as best as I can, only using one hand as the other rummages through my pocket
“I know the deal, I know what you have to do to keep that immortality, how far you have to run…and you’ve ran your last mile”

I see the fear in his eyes as he charges to give me the final blow with his weapon but it’s too late, I found what was looking for in my pocket….I have the snail

This man somehow took an already stunning song and made it even more stunning-

The song is about a father who lost (in my opinion )his son in the war and a woman, Eleanor Rugby who died and no one remembered her . It's about all the lonely people that have nobody to remember them .

I like how the orchestra builds on top of itself at the end. It reminds me of A Day In The Life in that way

This song sounds perfect to be played at the end credits for a movie, and the beginning part that screams “All the lonely people” would have been perfect for that one really good part of a movie right before the end credits
