I'm not sure I have the same read on the boutique fuzz market as you. There are loads of high end fuzzes out there that aren't doing anything modern. Yes it's true there are people pushing more modern takes too but there is a huge chunk of the market by far the biggest chunk) that is purely vintage inspired.

And I honestly can't think who wouldn't love this pedal. It's great fun.

It is an intriguing thought you have that you can get sounds out of this pedal using your guitar volume that you can't get out of this pedal using the pedal volume
(but unfortunately, they actually act exactly the same ;))

would like to see a comparison to the Behringer Super Fuzz, just for the sake of it.

does the fuzz Bender pair up with a blues driver & reverse reverb to create some of those my bloody valentine shoegaze sounds?

"I would much rather drop 60 quid on realizing that than having to pay the premium for vintage gear and finding out the exact same" - nah, people will buy that, and if they don't like the sound, they will try 10 times more expensive boutique pedals "because there is NO WAY that Behringer for 60$ have the same as boutique!".

Anyway, I'm not hyped, because I can build that myself. But if they will be used in good price...

Ok, so it does blues, but DOES IT DOOM?!

Still gonna buy a warm audio bender but gonna try this as well cos they will probably be quite different despite the same influence.

I got one and I love it, run through H&k deluxe 20 out of red box into Audio interface and using NAM for IR sounds beefy on my Les Paul. Also got the Behringer klon and really happy with that sound.

You turn the fuzz down some, into a slightly dirty amp. That’s the trick.

Hard to argue with the price of these, impressive package, pedal is ok too.

I don't gig or record anymore...I had my fun, though...
But if I wanted to get an audience's attention in a big way (who doesn't?), then I'd slam my guitar into one of those classic nasty fuzz or overdrive sounds that'd sterilize small mammals if they got too close to the venue. Recognizable, nostalgic, or new and radical, depending on whose ears was being assaulted at the moment. A Tone Bender type pedal was one of the quicker ways to achieve this. I preffered the Mk 2 or Mk 1...but a 1.5 was fine too, if not more common ala' the fuzz face connection. I just wish they had more traditional trannies that I might swap out with germanium ones for more unpredictable antics.
... I'm still getting one of these beasts though. Who knows what could happen?

Off topic...sort of ..
Caline Nasty Bear...
...any thoughts, anyone?

We need a good breakdown on the components and if they are using true germanium transistors. If not then I guess it’s the Warm Bender for me.

It shouldn’t be for everyone. I agree.

I’d buy it with all its limitations in a heartbeat if I could use it. But alas

It will be a gateway drug for a lot of people who will go on to buy the nicer stuff, on its own it sounds decent enough and looks the part. But let’s be real, if it just came in a boring looking modern/small pedal enclosure there wouldn’t be nearly as much chatter about it. It’s the wedge aesthetic that’s primarily driving the hype machine.
