And, ladies, if you want to appear smarter, never, NEVER raise your arms with your hands bent outwards with a look on your face that looks confused! Also, when you find something funny, or even upsetting, get in check with your emotions, but never EVER put your hand to your face to cover your mouth! In a Corporate environment especially, this comes off as immature. And, no confident woman who is emotionally intelligent would ever do either one of these very foolish non-verbal behaviors. And, remember what you say is only a small part of what you communicate, but upwards of 87% of all communication is non-verbal and is used to help convey an important message. Don’t say something smart and then react with non-verbal behaviors that dilute or diminish your message or what you intended to say.
