Oculus Quest 2 New Feature: Mixed Reality Room Setup

With the newest quest update version 40 an experimental feature called Room Setup landed on our headsets to prepare us for the upcoming mixed reality presence platform from Meta. Here is how to find it and set it up.

Hope they add the ability to recreate the bed room in vr. Would’ve love to recreate my brothers room so we can walk around the room in certain games like demeo.

This is great, I have my bed as a couch and my table as is. It prompts me to switch between roomscale and couch or table when I sit down. And full passthrough whenever I go over.

No more Guardian space, just my room with table, bed and obstacles modelled in, and I am aware of the real world. One critique would be to selectively turn of presence sense in some location so that I don't have to look at messy room when the feature is on

Im glad it wasnt just me that couldnt find "the world beyond", (it does say to type the name in exactly). Its a cool feature for sure and makes a lot of sense, but Im not sure if I prefer the more organic room scale boundary. It seemed easier to use the old setup method.

Simple blending modes in software for all apps would be useful. Like black parts alpha, screen etc.

So I have updated my quest two to the latest version 490 and for some reason I do not see that option under guardian in general, so how do I do the room scale virtual set?? This is 😢

How do you remove the “furniture”? I want to remove a table that I accidentally put down

If I do a setup like this, shall I then draw my guardian so it include those areas? Now I have my protective border drawn so it exclude table, fofa and bed, so when I stick my hand on to the table I get a warning and sometime pushed you passthrough that can set me to AFK in some games. How shall Mixed Reality setup be made in relation to the guardian?

Ohohooo yeah!!! Finally we are reaching something cool!!! Just get me excited to wait more....and see what AR games we will have thix Xmas. I myself am intrigued with the fact of i could buy quest 2 but wait only 4 months would be more deal and save more money for new VRs

This is an awesome feature! Quick thing about it though, for me, I cleaned my cameras, but my tracking keeps on getting lost while Im making it, what should i do? Also, since my room is on the top floor, my roof has dimension changes, is there any way to change the width of some walls in the quest 2?
