I worked with Harvey wallbanger in Iowa one evening. The guy that owns Harvey also owns the horses he races against, as horses are naturally terrified of Buffalo these horses were raised with the Buffalo so they wouldn't be scared. They put a pair of local jockeys on his horses and are told to start slow and come on hard at the end but Harvey always wins. And so he did. Later that evening as I was leaving I saw Harvey tied to the back of the semi with a huge cotton rope pulling the semi backwards. He was a big boi. 😆

A quarter horse is the fastest horse at a max of 55 miles an hour. Faster than thoroughbreds at 44 mph. We had a retired racing quarter horse who used to race the fire engines when they came down our road as they had a station on it. That bison (it’s not a buffalo, US does not have buffaloes) runs about 44 MPH. That bison must have been special.

Bison are a unique breed found only in North America. A member of the Buffalo family . They are a Buffalo, yes, but Bison 🦬 is more accurate.

The Buffalo Guy was touring the country, running races like these. He stopped in El Paso and stayed at the Westin Paso del Norte. I served him the best margarita he ever had. Nice guy.
